ALIVE Change:
Understanding, adapting and taking action

ALIVE Change is clear, open and inclusive. People understand what is happening, feel able to ask questions and raise concerns, and have a meaningful part to play in what happens next. Information alone does not create change; people need opportunities to make sense of what it means together.

This interactive workshop explores how to turn change communication into conversations that build understanding, reveal what may be missing and enable action.

The session introduces five skills for better change conversations: Asking, Listening, Interpreting, Validating and Exploring.

Through activities and discussion, participants consider how they respond when people are uncertain, sceptical or see things differently.

Move beyond announcements to explain change in a way that people can recognise, discuss and make real.

What participants will leave with

A strategic framework for moving from communication to action
Through a range of activities, participants explore how information, conversation and participation work together to help people recognise what a change means, make sense of it and take action.

A practical way to diagnose change challenges
Participants identify where assumptions and unanswered questions may be barriers to change.

A redesigned approach to a live change
Participants apply ALIVE to a real organisational challenge, considering the messages, conversations, decisions and opportunities for involvement needed at each stage.

A focused intervention they can test immediately
Participants develop a practical next step - such as redesigning a briefing, leadership conversation, workshop or feedback process - and identify how they will judge whether it is working.
