ALIVE Learners:
Making thinking visible

ALIVE Learners are curious, think aloud and treat uncertainty and mistakes as expected parts of making progress. These habits matter more than ever when convincing answers can be generated in seconds. The finished product is no longer reliable evidence that thinking has taken place.

This hands-on workshop explores how to create a culture where learning is made visible and the process of discovery is valued as much as the final product.

The session introduces five habits of learning: Asking, Listening, Interpreting, Validating and Exploring.

Through activities and discussion, participants examine the questions they ask, the behaviours they reward and how they respond when someone is still working something out.

“Just tell me what to do” is a learned response to environments that reward correct answers over curiosity.
