Workshop

ALIVE Communicators:
Speak with clarity and connection

ALIVE Communicators hold attention and make their message easier to understand.

Drawing on techniques from film, theatre and advertising, the ALIVE Communicators workshop helps participants speak with intention and confidence in any context: understanding what an audience needs, organising ideas into a clear message, using story to connect emotionally, and managing nerves while staying attentive to the people in front of them.

This highly practical workshop explores how pace, tone, energy, physical presence and connecting to the message all influence how the audience listens and responds.

People lean in to listen when they can understand what you are saying and why it matters.

Who is it for?

  • People who pitch ideas or present updates

  • People who lead meetings or workshops

  • People who speak to clients, colleagues or stakeholders

  • People who need to explain complex information clearly

  • New and experienced presenters who want to speak with greater confidence and influence

  • Organisations whose people represent their work or brand through spoken communication

Format

Available as a full-day or half-day in-person or online workshop.

The content can be adapted to groups of different sizes, and organisational and professional learning contexts.

What participants will leave with

A voice people can follow
Participants use pace, pitch, volume, emphasis and pause to make their message easier to understand and remember. They learn to vary their delivery naturally without sounding forced or performative.

Greater confidence and physical presence
Participants explore how posture, gesture and eye contact can support or undermine the message they want to communicate. They practise using breathing techniques and purposeful pauses to manage nerves and speak with greater confidence.

Clearer, more purposeful messages
Participants identify what their audience most needs to understand, feel or do. They learn how to structure spoken communication so that the central message does not become lost in too much information.

The ability to hold attention and respond
Participants practise using contrast, examples, stories and silence to maintain interest. They learn to notice when an audience is engaged, uncertain or unconvinced, and adapt by changing pace, asking a question, acknowledging a response or finding a clearer way to make their point.

A developed response to their own communication challenge
Participants apply the workshop techniques to a real presentation, meeting or speaking situation. They leave with a clearer sense of their strengths and specific changes they can put into practice immediately.
